Tre snabba frågor med Melissa Nilsson
Författare till Team English C Activity Book.
How do the different countries and cultures help students learn English?
Learning a language is about more than vocabulary and grammar. In order to really feel confident in another language it's important to understand the living context behind the words. When students learn about the diverse traditions, daily lives, and stories of people around the world, the language becomes real to them. That cultural connection is what makes them feel truly comfortable stepping out and speaking up.
How does the Activity Book prepare students for the English skills they need? (Åk 6 going on to åk 7)
The Activity Book hits all four of the major domains (reading, speaking, writing, and listening) just like the ones before it. This particular Activity Book really aims to support students on solidifying their basic skills and then reaching towards the next level in their English language skills. You'll see a mix of reviews and challenges that bridge the gap to higher levels, especially through cooperative work between students as they expand on their skills.
What do you hope students will remember most from this book?
I hope that students will remember their curiosity for the world around them being sparked to life! English is spoken all around the world in so many different ways, and I want them to realize that their own voice belongs in that global conversation. I hope they leave this book feeling that English isn't a barrier to fear, but an open door to exploring new cultures, making international friends, and discovering the world.
