Göran Rydén, f. 1959, är professor i ekonomisk historia vid Institutet för bostads- och urbanforskning, Uppsala universitet. Hans forskning rör främst industrialisering och urbana frågor i den tidigmoderna perioden i ett globalt perspektiv. Han har skrivit boken Baltic Iron and the Atlantic World in the Eighteenth Century (2007) tillsammans med Chris Evans, och tillsammans har de även redigerat antologin The Industrial Revolution in Iron. Th e Impact of British Coal Technology in Nineteenth-Century Europe (2005).
