Elina Lehtomäki has spent most of her professional career working in development cooperation projects in Africa with deaf and hardof- hearing people and in programmes aiming at providing quality education for all. She has also worked at the Department of Special Education, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Elina’s doctoral research explores post-compulsory education development in Finland, changes in educational provision and support for deaf or hard-of-hearing students. She has co-edited a book on the education of deaf or hard-of-hearing children and contributed to publications on inclusive education. Elina’s main interests are multidimensional research teamwork and participatory development cooperation. She currently works as a special needs education advisor for the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia.
