Cindy Isenhour is a Ph.D. Candidate and Instructor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on environmental risk perception and response in post-industrial urban societies, the political ecology of consumption, and sustainability. Her work has been published in the Journal of Poverty and the International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development. She is currently writing her PhD dissertation, a study based on 14 months of in-depth ethnographic research with Swedes who had modifi ed their consumer behaviors in response to perceived environmental risks. Her research has been supported by the J. William Fulbright Program, the American-Scandinavian Foundation, the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, and the University of Kentucky Graduate School.
