Lena Dominelli är professor i Applied Social Sciences vid the School of Applied Social Sciences och ledare för the Institute of Hazards, Risk and Resilience Research vid Durham University, UK, och medlem av Academies of the Learned Societies for Social Sciences. Hon är en erfaren utbildare, praktiker och forskare och har publicerat en lång rad arbeten inom områdena sociologi, socialpolitik och socialt arbete. Bland hennes många publikationer finns åtskilliga läroböcker, som Green Social Work, Social Work in a Globalizing World, Introducing Social Work, Social Work: Theory and practice in a changing profession, Anti-Racist Social Work, Women and Community Action, Feminist Social Work Theory and Practice, och Anti-Oppressive Social Work Theory and Practice. Hon har också varit President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (1996–2004) och har fått utmärkelsen Katherine A Kendall Award för sitt bidrag till internationellt socialt arbete. Hon har även föreläst i Sverige och de andra skandinaviska länderna.
