Peter Häyhänen is the Assistant Manager for Product Industrialization (BTTN) at Ericsson in Borås, Sweden. His responsibility is to coach and manage product and technology development and industrialization within the BTTN business unit as well as to develop their Six Sigma programme. BTTN provides transmission and transport solutions including everything from microwave access to optical transport, and is backed by management systems and services to support operators all over the world. The Borås site is the main production facility and logistical control centre for the whole BTTN product portfolio. The Borås organisation has since the mid-nineties developed their Six Sigma programme to include more and more different functions. Peter was one of the first Black Belt candidates from Ericsson who were invited to participate in one of ABB’s Black Belt courses in 1995. After graduation he has continuously applied Six Sigma in a variety of functions and managing levels within the Ericsson organisation. He provides training and support in Six Sigma for management teams at all levels, Black Belts, Yellow Belts, Managers and Champions throughout the Ericsson operations. As a frequent speaker at numerous external and internal conferences, he gives his vision of where and how Six Sigma can and should be applied.
